Marjorie is a professional who is passionate about education, capacity development on the African continent and the rights of the marginalised. Marjorie trained as an actuary and is the immediate President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), headquartered in the UK. She was elected by the IFoA Council to become the first IFoA president to be based outside the UK. She is also the youngest president in the organisation’s 160 year history, the third female and the first person of colour.
Marjorie has spoken at a number of industry conferences globally. She has also chaired numerous events and been a motivational speaker.
The majority of her career has been spent as a consultant in various guises, in the insurance and education sectors. Marjorie continues to undertake a portfolio of work as a freelance consultant.
Marjorie currently serves as a non executive director on a number of boards in the insurance and not for profit sectors.
